I do believe that if you have established yourself as a thought leader in accounting, law, consulting, banking, med, construction, landscape, you would be able to find a job in that field no matter where you go. In terms of retailing and manufacturing, it may help you become managers or SME consultants.</description>

It will not secure you a job in accounting, consulting, law, banking, retail, med, construction, landscape, manufacturing, or whatever else.  

Will it help?  Of course!  But it will not be the sole reason you get a job.  Blogging alone will get you a job in social media.</description>
