Haha,

Yea, like I said in the post, it's all about your expectations and goals. One is faster and more effective, but it ends up hurting your reputation = less fun :/

Thanks for the feedback Vikram. I'm actually trying as hard as I can not to write posts that are too long (because then no one reads it). The goal of this post is not to allow people to know HOW to do everything (that's an entire semester of courses :P), but at least understanding what questions to ask and what directions to take. It's kinda muddled and confusing with all the so-called "social media experts" out there.

A good insightful article, but a more clearer perspective on how actually to use various tools in a more productive way would have been useful.

Haha, yea, each method has its pros and cons. Some are more spammy but have more direct results. Some are "popular" but slow ROI. You gotta really see what your client wants and give them the right expectations.

I really enjoyed this article too! I usually go with Social Media Brand Management and you're so right - it works, but it takes awhile and doesn't produce the numbers right off that so many companies want to see. While Social Media Targeting is interesting, I usually steer clear of that method.

Good overview and post here! I guess it's the slow #1 method for me, but it's not about making money for me, it's just about fun.

I think i will have a lot less fun if it's about money. Thoughts?

I enjoyed the article, for me it gave me a new way to perceive the benefit of these sites. It left me looking forward to navigating these social sites toward my target market.

Thanks Shannon! I agree that most people don't really get social media, and many of the "experts" are really creating a bad name for the industry. I hope as time goes by there would be more standardized way of doing things correctly and telling the experts from the rest.

Great post Yu-kai.It's amazing how many people think that they can just start a Twitter account and see something happen. The engaging part is something that traditionalists always seem to miss.
