Haha, the quality of the post is definitely important too. However, how you distribute it is definitely what makes a great quality post get 400 visitors or 40,000. You would say 400 visitors in 12 hours is a great success for a blogpost, but I don't think you would tell people "I made this post go viral". I think to go viral, having a quality post is the basic, but you need the 3 players in the tipping point (mavens, connectors, salespeople) to reach tons of people.

Thanks for following and hope all is well!

Haha, actually, the idea is that you don't ask them to RT. You tell them that they are in it and they RT if they think it makes them look good :)

sweet post mate. I agree with a lot of these points, they are spot on. Personally I think the one real that helps a post go viral is the quality of that post. I am of the school of thought that with social media, if you communicate enough with lots of people genuinely on a regular basis, they will be drawn to check out your blog often. This is where I have failed big time! I am so busy working on my startup that I never have get on twitter and communicate as much as I want to or get on blogs I like and join in on the discussion as much as I will like. I think if one relates truly and often with other ppl in his/her niche it's alot easier.

With that said, it's often hard for a great post to go unnoticed. Now I won't say I have written 'great posts' or anything, even though I hope to get to that level some day, I have been lucky enough to write some posts that have been well received. I wrote this post called 7 habits of highly successful gen y entrepreneurs and it got retweeted quite a bit and drove in loads of traffic. It was a good post and all I did was tweet it at 11:56pm after writing it and passed out. At 11a.m. when I checked the next morning, it had about 400 views already. Now that might not be a whole lot for some blogs, but it was my second month blogging and I never saw that many ppl visit the blog. So all in all, I believe the quality of the post decides a whole lot as far as going viral is concerned.

Haha, if you stick to 1-2 sentences for most of the comments, it's actually really manageable. Neil Patel answers all his comments too, and he consistently have hundreds of commenters. If you have 100 commentors and you spend 20 seconds a comment, then you can finish all of it in 33 minutes :D

I like how your image has a play button. Too bad it doesn't link to anything though

This is very helpful.

I wonder how you respond to all comments. Doesn't it take forever to go through them all?
