Clinton Trump Presidential Debate: Yu-kai Chou views and comments on Persuasive Tactics

As some of you know, I JUST became a United States Citizens after living in the US for 16 years. I generally don’t participate much in politics because I like to focus on things I can change more – the rest are just the landscape challenges that I need to overcome.

However, I thought it would be very interesting to watch the debate to understand how the process goes, but more importantly share with my audience in case there are valuable lessons in persuasion and crowd influence in it.

  1. I was impressed that Yu-kai spent 2 hours doing this – it was all I could do to watch the original 90 minute debate and I am something of a political junkie. But I felt compelled to watch the whole thing as I appreciate the time and effort that went into it. You had interesting insights re:gamification as to both of the candidate’s statement, but I also felt like it was more of a “millennial” take on the debate than how a baby boomer perceived it. Perhaps you could promote this video even more and get people your age in a discussion about how they interpreted the event and politics in general.

You must engage in the conversation!!
