- Certified practitioners in under-covered geographies matter more per head than ones in major markets. A practitioner in a market with 50 gamification practitioners is one voice among 50. A practitioner in a market with 2 is a founding figure. The use is structural and enormous.
- Language matters — a practitioner who can teach the framework in Portuguese reaches an audience English-only content can't. Native-language teaching is not a translation service — it's a cultural rewriting. The result lands differently and lasts longer in the learner's mind.
- CD1 (Epic Meaning) is strongest for practitioners who feel they're bringing something new to their region. The meaning compounds with the uniqueness. Pioneer practitioners work harder because they can see the vacuum they're filling. That vacuum is motivational rocket fuel.
- The best regional practitioners become the local authority, not just a local teacher. Authority compounds. Once you're the go-to person in your region, every subsequent opportunity flows through you. That position is earned through years of visible practice, starting with a certification milestone.
- The deepest insight: the framework's global reach is actually a federation of regional reaches. No central team can cover every market. Regional practitioners do the work of market-specific adaptation. The global framework is what they collectively build — no one person could reach the whole world alone.

About the Creator of the Octalysis Framework

Yu-kai Chou created the Octalysis Framework after studying gamification since 2003 — years before the term entered mainstream vocabulary. As a Human-Systems Architect & Behavioral Designer, his framework has been applied by LEGO, Microsoft, Porsche, Coca-Cola, Salesforce, and MrBeast, impacting over 1.5 Billion Users.
Chou has taught the Octalysis methodology at Harvard, Stanford, Yale, Tesla, Google, BCG, and IDEO.
His work has been cited by Harvard, Stanford, MIT, Forbes, Wall Street Journal, Wired, US Department of Energy, NIST, NSF, NCBI, US Department of Education, ClinicalTrials.gov, and 3,700+ more academic publications. Explore his books here.
Rodrigo put a lot of thought into defining the Business Metrics.
This is a key foundational step in any gamification design. Pay attention to the details in the wording.
